If smoking were discovered today, it would never pass any of the world's health and safety requirements for human use. With over 4000 known toxins smoking introduces into the body, it would not be available for public use.

I am a former smoker that tried to quit by using the patch, gum, hypnosis, and cold turkey. Nothing worked until I had Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT). I even fell off the wagon once and then had it done again and I added Thought Field Therapy to my regimen to help me with the emotional aspects of smoking.

Why Smoking Makes You Feel Good!

When you smoke a cigarette, endorphins are released by your body and send signals to your brain to make you think you feel better. Nicotine addiction alters the normal endorphin cycle in your body so you have a hard time feeling good without the use of cigarettes. The effects of nicotine wear off quickly (usually 1 to 2 hours). As time goes by, endorphin levels in your body drop far below normal, and you begin to feel extremely irritable, stressed-out, fatigued, and anxious for another cigarette. When you inhale another cigarette, endorphin levels are raised back up to a point where you feel better and less anxious. This cycle continues, day-by-day, month-b-month and year-by-year. This is know as nicotine addiction.

How Does Low Level Laser Therapy Work?

By elevating levels of endorphins, laser therapy allows you to eliminate nicotine from your body while avoiding the cravings, stress, anxiety and irritability most commonly associated with withdrawal. A laser treatment naturally stimulates your cells to release endorphins over a period of 3 to 5 days versus 1 to 2 HOURS for a cigarette.

LLLT is the application of a “cold” pure laser light. It has been used to successfully to treat many kinds of musculoskeletal injuries because it promotes healing and tissue repair. Cold Laser Therapy or LLLT has also been found to be a successful treatment for alcohol and drug addiction, weight control, and smoking cessation. For smoking cessation, the laser is used on several points on the ears, face, and hands.

The laser light reaches through the skin and stimulates nerve endings associated with Acupuncture Points to produce endorphins. Endorphins are produced normally by you and are nature’s own mood lifter and anesthetic. The endorphin production relives the physical withdrawal symptoms of quitting smoking and helps keep you from feeling irritable and anxious.

It has been proven that it takes approximately three to five days for nicotine to leave your body completely. Consequently, a second booster session may be needed within 3-5 days of your initial session.

After about 5 days, you have successfully eliminated nicotine from your body. From that point, your mental battle with your addiction will become the challenge. This is where TFT for Addictive Urges will help you immensely.

Scheduling The First Day of Your Smoke Free Life!

What You Need To Do Before Your Session

Please print the following information. Using your mouse, left click and highlight the information you want to copy, at top of page left click on Page and then left click on Copy. Paste into Word Pad or whatever Word Program you have. Print

You'll once and for all kick the habit if you do a few things prior to your Stop Smoking Session.

  • Find at least one person for support, the more the better. Tell them you have scheduled an appointment to Quit Smoking on such and such day at such and such time. Ask them to support you in your decision to quit.

  • Write down what triggers you to light up. If possible try to start eliminating your triggers one at a time. Bring your list of triggers to your appointment.

  • Make a list of why YOU want to quit. Be specific with your list. Don't just write I want to be healthier. For example: I want to be able to climb stairs without getting winded. I want to see my grandchildren graduate from high school or college. Bring this list to your appointment as well.

  • Make an action plan for the first few days after your session.  Keep busy especially during those times that are your trigger times. Exercise, go to a movie, go for a walk, etc. Bring your action plan to your appointment.

  • Calculate how much money you will save by not smoking. Put aside the money for a reward to yourself, whether it's a trip or some new clothes. Bring your calculation to your appointment.

Begin detoxification 4-5 days before your session.

  • Reduce or eliminate caffeine consumption (the more caffeine you have in your body the more you want to smoke).

  • Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day (water flushes out toxins)

  • Avoid soft drinks, tea, and sugary foods.

  • Increase your intake of Vitamin C

  • Get on a Vitamin B Complex (B's are your nerve vitamins)

You do not have to cut back or alter your smoking pattern prior to your  session. However, eliminating your triggers will help you begin to break the habit before you actually quit.
